Not to be outdone – our Anthropology Undergraduates are Bringing Home Awards!
We are thrilled to announce the accomplishments of our undergraduates!
Haley LeRand, a Fall semester LASURI fellow, won recognition for her poster on the Global Garden Refugee Training Farm and as selected as on of ten students from UIC to present her work in Springfield at the Undergraduate Research day!
Anthropology undergraduates were awarded three LASURI fellowships for the 2019-2020 school year. The Liberal Arts & Sciences Undergraduate Research Initiative (LASURI) encourages students to develop their research skills by providing financial support to undergraduates in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and their faculty mentors for one- or two-semester research projects.
Jasmine Reed and Olivia Lee will be working with Dr. Molly Doane on her Garden Research Project in Chicago.
Jordan Alcanter, our third LASURI fellow, will be working with Dr. Gayatri Reddy on a queer disability project.
We are also proud to announce that we have two Phi Beta Kappa nominees: Summer Shaw and Natalie Rojas. Phi Beta Kappa is an honor society of the best and brightest liberal arts undergraduates from across the country. It is quite an honor to be nominated into the company of amazing scholars.
Congratulations to all of you! Very well done!
