I’m a PhD student in the sociocultural track under Dr. Nermeen Mouftah. I focus on Islamic ontologies in the Middle East, particularly Turkey. I'm invested in exploring the affective grounds of religion in relation to themes such as nationalism, secularism, and statecraft. Synthesizing post-human approaches and affect theory, I seek to imagine alternative economies by engaging with oral stories of encounters with the supernatural.
