I see health as a negotiation of interacting, overlapping and competing processes at many different levels, and am interested in distilling how it is that social conditions relate to health and wellbeing. Much of the motivation for my research stems from my concern for social justice and the welfare of underprivileged and/or marginalized communities. I am among the faculty running the Anthropology and Global Health AGH program; a program designed to allow students to cross disciplinary boundaries and draw on various methodologies from anthropology and public health and apply them to global health issues.
