Kareem Rabie has organized a book talk of interest at Pilsen Community Books. The talk is supported by the UIC Department of Anthropology, the UIC Department of Black Studies, the Social Justice Initiative, and the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy. On April 9, Orisanmi Burton (Assistant Professor of Anthropology at American University) will be in conversation with filmmaker Maryam Kashani (Associate Professor of Gender and Women's Studies at UIUC) local musician/artist/educator Damon Locks and about Ori's new book "Tip of the Spear: Black Radicalism, Prison Repression, and the Long Attica Revolt."  More information about the talk can be found on the Pilsen Community Books website.
