Dr. Solinis Casparius Awarded NSF Grant
Dr. Rodrigo Solinis Casparius has been awarded an NSF Senior Archaeology Award in the amount of $307,769. The project, which is co-directed by Dr. Christopher Fisher at CSU, is titled "Becoming Purepecha: Genesis of an Empire at Angamuco, Michoacan." The project will include three years of field seasons in Mexico starting in summer 2025 and is focused on identifying symbols of imperial transition through excavation and mapping of mortuary areas, public plazas, and household complexes.
