Shilpa Menon and Dipti Sherchan named 2023/2024 Resident Graduate Scholars by UIC Institute for the Humanities

UIC Anthropology graduate students Shilpa Menon and Dipti Sherchan have been named Resident Graduate Scholars for the 2023/2024 academic year by the UIC Institute for the Humanities. This program is a one-year appointment in which UIC graduate students are given office space and resources to complete dissertations that represent important contributions to the humanities. Shilpa's dissertation is titled "'You Can't Feed Us, But You Will Count Us': Transgender Politics and State Power in South India" and Dipti's dissertation is titled "The Contested Academy and Proliferating Modernities: The Art of Nation Building in Nepal."
