Three Graduate Students Awarded Fellowships for International Research
Three UIC anthropology PhD students have been awarded the Graduate College's new Fellowships for International Research. These funds are designed to help graduate students do extended work overseas, providing cover for both research and living expenses up to a total of $12,500 over a period of five months. Our winners are:
Ritu Ghosh - "Surrogate 'Motherhood': Intricacies of Law, Labor, and Livelihood in Contemporary India"
Aishani Khurana - "Contesting Sovereignties: State Violence and Agency in the Everyday Lives of Muslim Women in India"
Dipti Sherchan - "Indigeneity and Institutional Encounters: The Art and Cultural Politics of Nation Building in Nepal"
