About
I am a sociocultural anthropologist interested in the intersections of gender and health, and the biopolitics of reproductive labor in India. Specifically, my research seeks to focus on the transnational commercial surrogacy industry in the current neoliberal state economy. This builds on my broader concerns with the gendered nature of biopolitics, disease, and marginalization in India, which I explored in my master’s thesis that dealt with the national HIV/AIDS epidemic.
