About
I have been in and around UIC's Department of Anthropology for many years: as an undergraduate student, graduate student, teaching assistant, and now as an adjunct lecturer. I graduated with my MA in Anthropology with an emphasis in biological anthropology and bioarchaeology in 2025 and am very excited to be back to teach ANTH 105 this semester as its primary instructor!
While I am not currently in a research position, my general academic focus is in osteology and bioarchaeology with a particular interest in paleopathology and paleoepidemiology. In addition to continuing to teach, I am hoping to be in a position to conduct research in the spread and mortality of epidemic and pandemic diseases in the past--such as influenza and plague--to learn how to better prepare modern populations for current and future widespread disease outbreaks.
